Before

Before Pic.  After taking this and seeing how bad it really looked, Russell went into a Louie-like hissy fit and started taking everything down.

This is the Foyer.  We have plaster walls that are cracked all over, so the brown walls is a paper treatment.  I want to change the color, and I thought about wallpaper (like a toile or classical birds, or something fun, but I think it may crack, and I think thats why they have the paper bag treatment.  Someone suggested paintigthe walls a light color and painting the ceiling another color???  The floor is black and white.

(And the random sailboat pic was hung yesterday just to put something on the wall. Before the sailboat, we had a little chalkboard and a picture from italy).
This was the little chalkboard that was where the boats are now.

Living room: The former owners left their gorgeous aqua silk drapes, so I want to design around them, because I love the aqua/turquoise and cream look.  The walls are boring beige.  I don't mind them, and I definitely want to keep them neutral, but I'm leaning towards more of a grey. Or I have thought about painting the fireplace wall (the center part) an accent color???

This is a little accent chair I have, that I love. I would design the room around it, with its aquas, golds, and pinks.

This is the sofa. I love the style, but I need accent pillows

And the sofa table.  I'm all up for painting and distressing this if need be.

THe fireplace is green marble. I want to put new tile over it - like I've seen on several blogs.  DO I go all white or more of a charcoal?

I have those floral chairs that are from our last house, which unfortunately are like the focal point of the room. THey are great chairs, and I just got them recovered two years ago, but I feel like they completely clash.  If there is a way to make them work with accent pillows, art, etc... great.  I'm leaning towards cream colored slip covers, but I've yet to find any I like, so I think they'll have to be custom.  If I do make slip covers, your thoughts on bleached drop cloth or white denim???

We need a piece of art for above the mantel.  We saw this on ebay yesterday and sadly lost the auction, but we want something similar to this.

I need a rug in the living room too. I thought about, just like a natural jute rug??

THis desk is to the right of the mantle.  I added the books yesterday.

ABove the piano is so bare.  I feel like a gallery style hanging, with our guitarist and maybe the orange flowers, but don't want to commit to anything until I have a full plan for the room

Dining Room: Dining room and living room connect.  I don't feel as though it is in as bad of shape as the living room, but it definitely needs some work too.

Alison gave us the rug. Its not necessarily colors I love, but it does have some aqua in it and works for the time being.

this chair is a good will find. I love the cane back and want to paint it, but am waiting til I find the right favbric for the cushion.
